Enhance your vision. Enhance your dining experience.

Don’t struggle to read the menu. Use DimLit to discretely see all your choices. Relax and enjoy your evening.

DimLit can amplify available light without the conspicuous glare of your device’s torch. Don’t worry, you can use the torch if you want, but that usually wont be necessary.

DimLit can also magnify and increase the contrast of the live video stream from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch camera.

DimLit is simple to use. Just hold your iPhone or iPod touch a few inches from whatever you are trying to read. Touch the screen and hold, then use the displayed controls to adjust the magnification or fine tune the light amplification. DimLit will “learn” the adjustments you make to the lightness.

Double tap to enter high contrast mode. High contrast mode is especially useful for reading light printing on a light background (or dark printing on a dark background). Double tap again to go back to normal mode.

DimLit is not a flashlight app or a fake night vision app. It uses digital image processing algorithms on a live video feed from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch camera . DimLit does not require a built-in torch (flash). It works with the available light, avoiding the glare that would occur when using the torch at short distances.

These algorithms have been optimized to give you the best results while limiting battery usage. Be sure to turn off DimLit when you are done using it. Just press the Home button on your iPhone or iPod touch to turn off DimLit.

Tips for best results when using DimLit:

Hold your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch a few inches from the page you are trying to read. If you hold it to close to the page, the camera in your mobile digital device will not be able to focus.

Wait a second or two before making any adjustments. This will give your mobile digital device time to make any automatic adjustments it can.

Remember that your camera is in the corner of your mobile device, not the center. Keep this in mind when positioning your mobile device.

Be sure to turn off DimLit by pressing the Home button when you are done. DimLit does not shut off automatically (otherwise the screen would dim while you are trying to read).

Quite good
Works very well but note that image is only Black & White.
App
Nice job. Good app for menus and reading.
Nice App
A must for the 50+ crowd like me. Still dont need glasses but reading in the dark is a challenge.
Great app.
Great and extremely useful app.
Fantastic App!
Ita not perfect, but it is amazing! Its value is far greater than its price, no doubt. If you have an iPhone and hate glasses, this is a no brainier. Buy it now. It requires some fiddling and dexterity to get the best results from it, but again, it produces amazing results. The real time high contrast coupled with zoom is very nice. It also works very nicely with Apples accessibility feature that invert blacks and whites with a triple click of the home button, if enabled, but it would be nice if this were a feature of the app. Great as it is, I think it could benefit with real time image stabilization when zoomed, like the 4S camera app does. I know the intended purpose is occasional reading in low light, and its great for that, but Id love to hand it to an 85 year old grandfather with macular degeneration, but Im not sure the interface is up to it. And I dont know how it could be done, but itd be nice if the app could auto adjust white point and focus without requiring the user to slide and tap the on screen button. Maybe some sort of auto flash, auto contrast, auto focus, shape detection OCR magic. That would be other worldly awesome.
